The Shots in the Dark Independent Theatre Company

Great Theatre In Your Backyard

                               Who We Are

During the summer of 2007, a lowly soon-to-be high school senior named Patrick (see unnecessarily large picture below)

wanted to direct a play. So he got together a group of theater geeks (a.k.a. his friends) and convinced some theater-geeks-in-the-making to take part in this experiment.

However, he didn't have a play. Well, he had one in mind (one his mother had directed in the '90s). The play was called "The Long Red Herring" written by Pat Cook. He got the script from his mother and convinced his friends it was the show to do. The Long Red Herring, a murder mystery that turns out to be a complete hoax, turned out to be a greater success than they had ever expected. With the donations they received, they decided to officially start The Shots in the Dark Independent Theatre Company to give the students and alumni of The Columbus Academy a chance to be involved in more theater productions.

Having just concluded it's third season the group has grown and they've formed new working relationships with the Westerville Parks and Recreation Department as well as the Westerville Chamber of Commerce and now the City of Gahanna and Creekside in Gahanna. Patrick returned from college to lead a new era for Shots in the Dark (which saw the group's first ever musical performance), with a strong group of newly elected officers by his side to continue the company for (hopefully) many years to come.
